Strawberry & Chocolate Brownie Gelato!!!

Homemade ice-cream is always best the day it’s made because of the lack of stabilisers or preservatives in it.

Strawberry & Chocolate Brownie Gelato

  • 400g fresh strawberries, washed and hulled
  • 200g caster sugar
  • 250ml double or whipping cream
  • 250ml semi-skimmed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 250g chocolate brownies, chopped into 1/2cm bits


Blend together strawberries and sugar until the mixture is smooth. Add cream, milk and vanilla extract and mix until combined. Pour into ice-cream maker and add the brownie bits. Follow instructions for your particular ice-cream maker.


If you don’t have an ice-cream maker, pour the mixture into a shallow container and add the brownie bits. Put into freezer, removing every 1/2 hour to give it a good stir. Continue until it’s uniformly frozen.

Makes about 1 litre. Enjoy
